Sustainable Approaches From
ELECTRIC VEHICLE – BATTERY
BEVs are also known as All-Electric Vehicles (AEV). Electric Vehicles using BEV technology run entirely on a battery-powered electric drivetrain. The electricity used to drive the vehicle is stored in a large battery pack which can be charged by plugging into the electricity grid. The charged battery pack then provides power to one or more electric motors to run the electric car.
HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are powered by an internal combustion engine in combination with one or more electric motors that use energy stored in batteries. HEVs combine the benefits of high fuel economy and low tailpipe emissions with the power and range of conventional vehicles.
PLIUG IN - HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) use batteries to power an electric motor, as well as another fuel, such as gasoline or diesel, to power an internal combustion engine or other propulsion source. PHEVs can charge their batteries through charging equipment and regenerative braking. Using electricity from the grid to run the vehicle some or all of the time reduces operating costs and fuel use, relative to conventional vehicles. PHEVs may also produce lower levels of emissions, depending on the electricity source and how often the vehicle is operated in all-electric mode.
ALTERNATIVE FUE - BIO FUEL
Biodiesel is a domestically produced, renewable fuel that can be manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats, or recycled restaurant grease for use in diesel vehicles or any equipment that operates on diesel fuel. Biodiesel's physical properties are similar to those of petroleum diesel.
NATURAL GAS
NGVs use compressed natural gas (CNG) which is stored in high-pressure cylinders carried by the vehicle. NGVs are more expensive to buy than conventional vehicles.The driving range of NGVs is generally less than that of comparable diesel or gasoline vehicles due to the lower energy density of natural gas. Extra storage tanks can increase range, but the additional weight may displace cargo capacity.
HYDROGEN,GREEN HYDROGEN, FUEL CELL
Hydrogen, when used in a fuel cell to provide electricity, is a zero tailpipe emissions alternative fuel produced from diverse energy sources. Currently, drivers of light-duty fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) can fuel up at retail stations in less than 5 minutes and obtain a driving range of more than 300 miles. Research and commercial efforts are under way to expand the limited hydrogen fueling infrastructure and increase the production of FCEVs.
E - FUEL
Electrofuel – or “e-fuel” - refers to a type of synthetic fuel that is produced from renewable energy sources (such as solar or wind power), using a process called power-to-liquid (PtL). PtL technology involves converting electricity generated from renewable sources into hydrogen through electrolysis, which is then combined with carbon dioxide to produce a liquid fuel. Critically, e-fuel can be used in existing internal combustion engines without the need for modifications, making it a potential substitute for petrol or diesel in the transportation sector. However, the production of e-fuels is currently more expensive than traditional fossil fuels, and scaling up production to meet global demand remains a challenge.
SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL
Sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) is an alternative fuel made from non-petroleum feedstocks that reduces emissions from air transportation. SAF can be blended at different levels with limits between 10% and 50%, depending on the feedstock and how the fuel is produced.
